SIBU, Dec 27: A woman died following an asthma attack while staying in a budget hotel at Jalan Cross with her family yesterday.
Acting Sibu district police chief Supt Dr Collin Babat said the family, including four children, had checked into the budget hotel on Dec 15.
“They were in their room when the woman suddenly experienced shortness of breath around 4.40pm. Her husband tried to help her, but he wasn’t able to,” he said.
He added that the husband then called the hospital, and an ambulance arrived soon after.
“Paramedics tried to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) on the woman, but she was unresponsive. She was pronounced dead at 5.40pm,” he said.
The police had ruled out foul play in the woman’s death. ― DayakDaily
