Woman succumbs to injuries sustained in accident at Jalan Lanang


SIBU, Dec 27: A 27-year-old woman lost her life after the car she was travelling in crashed into the wall fence of a secondary school at Jalan Lanang last night.

Acting Sibu district police chief Supt Dr Collin Babat said the victim, Florin Senia Akin from Rumah Vincent Banyang Mile 69 Sibu-Bintulu Road, was a passenger in the car driven by a 23-year old businessman.

“They were on their way from town to Jalan Upper Lanang at about 9.15pm when the driver lost control of the car and rammed into the wall fence of SMK Chung Hua,” he said.


The victim was rushed to the hospital but succumbed to severe head injuries about two hours later, while the driver suffered a dislocated left hip.

The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987. ― DayakDaily
