KUCHING, Nov 14: There is no issue on early voting for military personnel as postal voting began on Nov 7, says caretaker Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Parliament and Law) Dato Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar.

He was referring to Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) president Dato Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s allegation that there are military personnel, especially in P090 Bera, who have already voted for the 15th General Election (GE15).

Wan Junaidi said as informed by the Malaysian Armed Forces (ATM) Chief General Tan Sri Affendi Buang, the voting process for military personnel registered as postal voters started on Nov 7, 2022.

“All postal ballot papers had been released on Monday which is Nov 7, 2022.

“In fact, the candidates’ agents have been informed by each Returning Officer (RO) about the date of issuing the postal ballot.

“Therefore, there is no issue arising because this is a normal process in all elections, whether by-elections (PRK) or General Elections (GE),” he said in a statement today.

“What is important, the postal ballot papers must reach the relevant Returning Officer’s Office before 5pm on the voting day; Nov 19, 2022,” he added. — DayakDaily
