KUCHING, Dec 6: It will be a five-cornered fight in N10 Pending during the 12th Sarawak Election.
Incumbent Violet Yong Wui Wui (DAP), who is set to defend her seat for the fourth term, submitted her nomination papers at 8.58am, alongside her proposer Valene Yong Wui Fei and seconder Choo Chiew Jun.
She will face Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP-GPS) Milton Foo Tiang Wee and Parti Sarawak Bersatu (PSB) Tan Kay Hok.
The other candidates eying to take over Pending were Parti Bumi Kenyalang’s (PBK) Teo Kuang Kim and Sarawak People’s Aspiration Party’s (Aspirasi) Chan Chee Hiong.
According to Election Commission returning officer Wong Ming Kong, all candidates successfully submitted their nomination papers at Kuching South City Council (MBKS) today.
Violet won the seat of N10 Pending for three consecutive terms; in the 2006, 2011 and 2016 elections.
In 2016, she garnered 12,454 votes against Foo (7,442) in a straight fight. — DayakDaily
