MIRI, Oct 12: A collision involving five vehicles occurred today on Jalan Bulan Sabit, resulting in one car plunging into a large drain and catching fire.
The Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) Sarawak reported that the 35-year-old male driver of the aforementioned car was able to safely exit the vehicle.
Quick-thinking members of the public at the scene managed to extinguish the engine fire before the arrival of firefighters.
In response to a distress call received at 4.32pm, the Bomba operation centre promptly dispatched a team of firefighters to the location.
Subsequently, firefighters assessed the accident and provided initial medical aid to the injured driver.
The injured individual was transported to the hospital via an ambulance.
The entire operation was successfully concluded by 5.22pm. — DayakDaily
