Van driver succumbs to injuries after motorcycle crashes

MIRI, April 22: A hotel van driver succumbed to his injuries after he lost control of the motorcycle he was riding with his wife, and skidded before veering into the opposite lane at KM13 Phase 1 Tudan here this morning.

According to Sarawak Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department chief Supt Alexson Naga Chabu, the deceased identified as Abdul Aisamuddin Jamhari, 30, had injured his head and body following the crash, while his 25-year-old wife sustained light body injuries.

The incident happened at 11.45am, in front of a kindergarten.

Alexson added, the deceased and his wife were on their way to pick up their children from school when the crash occurred.

The impact of the crash threw the couple off the motorcycle and they landed on the road.

“Abdul Aisamuddin died while receiving treatment at Miri Hospital at 12.39pm,” said Alexson.

The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987. — DayakDaily
