KUCHING, May 19: Business premises or workplaces that record attendance manually under Covid-19 standard operating procedures (SOP) are advised to use two separate logbooks for staff and customers or visitors, respectively.
Kuching South City Council (MBKS) Mayor Dato Wee Hong Seng emphasised that this measure was to facilitate ease and effective contact tracing in the event of Covid-19 infections.
“Operators using physical record books for recording (of attendance) purposes are advised to have two separate record (books), (with) one for customers and one for employees for easier and more accountable contact tracing,” he said in a statement issued today.
Wee was clarifying a recent post on a social media site informing that business operators need to record attendance of employees not only using MySejahtera app but also on logbooks manually, following a business owner being fined RM1,500 for a SOP offence of not having a “worker registration book”.
“(However), Operators are not required to maintain a separate record book for their staff so long as the MySejahtera app use is being used and enforced in their workplaces or premises,” he added.
