SPAOH, Oct 31: Bukit Saban assemblyman Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas has challenged his detractors to show proof that the Iban majority constituency had seen little progress and development during his time as its elected representative.
Uggah, who is also the Deputy Chief Minister said the opposition had often harped on this issue every time they moved around the constituency.
“They are actually resorting to telling something untrue to discredit me, the Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) government and to instigate the people,” he said.
Uggah said this during a meet-the-people session at the community hall here today.
Assistant Minister of Law, State-Federal Relations and Project Monitoring Datuk Sharifah Hasidah Sayeed Aman Ghazali was among those present.
Uggah said since 2017, more than RM465 million had been allocated and would be spent in the constituency to build various infrastructure projects, social amenities, housing and modern farming projects.
He said Bukit Saban and Spaoh had seen increasing development and progress now because the people had rightly chosen to be with the government.
“I believe the people will again make the same choice in the coming election.
“They will reject the opposition again because they do not have the agenda for them at all.
“They are only good at badmouthing the government and its leaders,” he added. — DayakDaily
