SIBU, August 24: Two men were arrested last Friday (Aug 11) for committing break-in.
Sibu District Police Chief ACP Zulkipli Suhaili said the duo aged 29 and 30, were caught red-handed at a swiftlet nest house in Jalan Durin.
The police in Ops Lejang detained them at 2.40am on Friday after one of the suspects was seen driving in a suspicious manner near the swiftlet nest house.
“Upon investigation, the police found another suspect hiding inside the birdnest house along with burglary tools believed to belong to both suspects,” he said.
The police also seized a Honda Civic car, burglary tools including two machetes, around 130 grams of swiftlet nests, a pair of scissors, a spear, two flashlights, and a mask.
Zulkipli said that further investigation revealed that the suspects had bored a hole in the wall of the swiftlet nest house to use as an entry and exit point.
“Upon checking, both suspects were found to have previous criminal records related to theft.
“They will be remanded for six days until August 17 to assist the investigation under Section 457 of the Penal Code,” he said. — DayakDaily
