KUCHING, Dec 17: Two died while six others suffered injuries in a road collision along Trusan road in Lawas, yesterday.
Lawas Fire and Rescue (Bomba) department in a statement today, received the call regarding the incident at 5.48 pm, and a team of five firefighters led by PBK II Alim Gumri was deployed to the location.
According to the statement, the incident involved a sub-compact carrying six individuals including the driver, while the other two were in the sedan vehicle, nearby Kampung Pangi, in Trusan road.
“Firefighters arriving at the location confirmed the incident and proceeded with a Size Up operation. All of the victims had been carried out from their vehicle by the members of the public.
“However, two of the victims, one male and one female, were confirmed dead at the location by the medical personnel from the hospital, while six others, four children, including one adult male and female, were brought to Lawas hospital for further treatment by an ambulance,” it said.
The statement noted the remains of two victims who succumbed to their injuries were brought to the hospital using a police vehicle.
“Firefighters then proceed with clearing the debris on the road and continued to monitor the location to ensure that it is under control, and safe for road users,” the statement read. –DayakDaily.
