KUCHING, March 19: The Land Custody and Development Authority (LCDA) has contributed RM2,297,726 in business zakat to the Sarawak Baitulmal Fund (TBS), reinforcing its commitment to corporate social responsibility and community welfare.
The zakat contribution was presented by LCDA general manager Datu Zaidi Mahdi on behalf of the LCDA Group of Companies to TBS general manager Datu Abang Mohd Shibli Abang Mohd Nailie during the Darul Hana Iftar 2025 ceremony tonight.
The event, graced by Premier of Sarawak Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg, and his wife Datuk Amar Juma’ani Tunaku Bujang, was held to celebrate the Darul Hana community, along with government agencies and departments involved in the Darul Hana Development Project.
During the event, the Premier and his wife also distributed RM18,750 in Hari Raya contributions to 40 representatives from the total 125 recipients, comprising orphans and underprivileged individuals. Each recipient from 13 villages within the Darul Hana Development Project area received RM150 to assist with their Ramadan and Hari Raya preparations.
The Darul Hana Iftar 2025 gathered around 600 guests, including LCDA staff, community leaders from Kampung Seberang Hilir, heads of government departments and agencies, and media representatives.
The event is part of LCDA’s annual CSR initiative, aimed at supporting the underprivileged during Ramadan while fostering stronger ties with stakeholders involved in the Darul Hana Development Project.
Among the distinguished guests present include Deputy Minister for Urban Planning, Land Administration and Environment Datuk Len Talif Salleh, Deputy Minister in the Sarawak Premier’s Department Datuk Dr Abdul Rahman Junaidi, LCDA Holdings Sdn Bhd chairman Tan Sri Abdul Aziz Husain, as well as board members and senior management of LCDA Group of Companies. – DayakDaily
