Two Indonesians nabbed at border with stolen motorcycles jailed 6 months each

KUCHING, Feb 20: The Magistrate’s Court here sentenced two Indonesians to six month’s imprisonment each for retaining stolen motorcycles.

Daniel, 31. and Amirudin, 27, were charged separately before Magistrate Zaiton Anuar where they both pleaded guilty to the charge framed.


The magistrate convicted them as charged and sentenced each of them to six months’ imprisonment.

Daniel was charged with retaining a stolen Yamaha motorcycle belonging to a 20-year-old man while Amirudin was charged with retaining a Honda motorcycle belonging to a 33-year-old woman, at Jalan Ladang Sawit Kampung Raso, Lundu, at about 10.20am on December 13, 2022.

They were charged under Section 411 of the Penal Code, which carries imprisonment of between six months and five years, and a fine, upon conviction.

The 20-year-old male victim lodged a police report on December 9, 2022 after he discovered that his motorcycle that was parked on a pathway at Batu Kawah was stolen. The 33-year-old female victim lodged a police report on December 11, 2022 after she found that her motorcycle that was parked at Wisma Hyfa had been stolen.

On December 13, while the police was patrolling the Malaysia-Indonesia border, they found two suspicious looking men riding on separate motorcycles without registration numbers.

Both of the men tried to flee when police personnel approached them.

An investigation revealed the two motorcycles were reported stolen.
