KUCHING, March 3: A fatal road collision involving two heavy vehicles and a car killed two children and a senior citizen at Jalan Selepong Maleh, Sri Aman to Betong Road this afternoon.

The incident happened around 2pm.

It was said that the impact of the collision trapped all the six people including the car driver inside the car. Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) personnel reached the scene not long after and immediately started the rescue operation.

After extracting the victims, the firefighters handed over the scene to the police and returned to their station.

Meanwhile, according to a statement from State Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department chief Supt Alexson Naga Chabu, the fatal collision happened when one of the heavy vehicles which was heading from Kuching to Sri Aman reached KM28 of the Kuching-Sri Aman road.
