KUCHING, Feb 14: Dato Fazzrudin Abdul Rahman has been reappointed as the Chief Political Secretary to the Premier of Sarawak, effective today.
His reappointment continues his service in the position, having first been appointed on Feb 18, 2022, according to the Sarawak Public Communication Unit (Ukas).
With a three-year term of service, Fazzrudin will continue to play an essential role in the State’s administrative delivery system.
Fazzrudin, who is the assemblyman for Tupong, is also the head of the Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) Tupong Branch.
The oath-taking ceremony, which took place at Wisma Bapa Malaysia, was witnessed by the Premier of Sarawak, Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg.
Meanwhile, Fazzrudin expressed his appreciation to the Premier for the trust given to him in continuing to serve in the position.
He reiterated his commitment to support Abang Johari’s leadership in implementing development policies for the State, including the Post-Covid-19 Development Strategy (PCDS) 2030 that touches on environmental sustainability.
“It is very important that these policies are utilised to ensure that the Sarawak government’s approach remains effective and in line with the aspirations and wishes of the people,” he said in a statement on his social media page today.
He also expressed his full support for efforts to defend Sarawak’s rights based on the Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MA63), the Intergovernmental Committee (IGC) Report, and the Federal Constitution.
Deputy Premier, Datuk Amar Professor Dr Sim Kui Hian; Sarawak Secretary, Datuk Amar Mohamad Abu Bakar Marzuki; Deputy Sarawak Secretaries, Dato Sri Dr Muhammad Abdullah Zaidel (Economic Planning and Development) and Datu Buckland Bangik (Administration); and department heads were also present. — DayakDaily
