KUCHING, Nov 21: Progressive Democratic Party (PDP) president Dato Seri Tiong King Sing has opined that any political party’s internal affairs should be left for them to solve among themselves.
Speaking to reporters at the Sarawak Legislative Assembly (DUN) Complex today, he described the political situation regarding forming the next federal government as kelam-kabut (chaotic).
“Now, if you look at social media, everything is chaotic. (We) never know who has the numbers, who is with who.
“Let’s say if Barisan Nasional (BN) never went to have a word with Perikatan Nasional (PN), PN will never be able to form a government, (or) even (receive) GPS’ support. So you pandai kira (can roughly guess what is happening). Their problem, we let them settle among themselves first. As simple as that,” he said.
PDP is one of the component parties of Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS), which won 22 seats in the 15th General Election (GE15) for Sarawak. However, there is one more seat — P220 Baram — for which the result has not been officially announced due to the suspended voting process because of the bad weather.
When asked about PDP’s stand on the prime minister candidate, Tiong said the most important thing is to see which coalition will form the government of the day.
“Then we will do the analysis from there. Of course, we GPS will discuss among ourselves (first), and then Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg will make the final decision,” he added. — DayakDaily
