Thunderstorm warnings issued to Kuching, Serian, Samarahan, Miri, Limbang; valid until 5pm (May 11)

KUCHING, May 11: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued thunderstorm warnings to the north and south areas of Sarawak, which are expected to last until 5pm today.

According to the advisory notice released by MetMalaysia at 1.45pm today, Kuching, Serian, Samarahan, Miri (Telang Usan and Marudi), and Limbang are listed as the areas to be affected by the rainy weather.

Based on the Facebook post, the warning is only issued when there are signs of thunderstorms with rain intensity exceeding 20mm an hour or with a downpour that is expected to occur for more than an hour.
