KUCHING, April 17: Thunderstorm warnings have been issued to north and central Sarawak by Malaysia Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) and are expected to last until 12pm.
According to the advisory notice at 9am today; Bintulu and Miri (Miri and Subis) are listed as the areas to be affected by the rainy weather and will remain in effect until 12pm.
Based on the Facebook post, the warning is only issued when there are signs of thunderstorms with rain intensity exceeding 20mm an hour or with downpour that is expected to occur for more than an hour.
A thunderstorm warning is a short-term warning valid for a maximum of six hours for every release.
