KUCHING, Oct 23: Thunderstorms, heavy rain, and strong winds are expected in 13 districts in Sarawak until 7pm tonight.
According to the Malaysia Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) in a statement issued at 4.10pm, the affected areas are Sri Aman, Betong, Sarikei, Sibu, Mukah, Kapit, Song, Belaga, Bintulu, Tatau, Miri, Marudi, and Limbang.
The department said that a thunderstorm warning is issued when there are signs of a thunderstorm with a rain intensity of more than 20 mm/hour close to or expected to last for more than an hour.
“A thunderstorm warning is a short-term warning valid for a period of not exceeding six hours for a single release,” it added. — DayakDaily
