KUCHING, March 5: Thunderstorm warnings have been issued for seven districts in Sarawak in a notice which is valid until 1pm today.
According to Malaysian Meteorological Department (METMalaysia) in the advisory issued at 9am today, the affected areas are Kuching, Serian, Samarahan, Sri Aman (Sri Aman), Betong, Sarikei (Sarikei and Meradong), and Mukah.
A warning is issued when there are signs of a thunderstorm with an intensity of rain exceeding 20 mm/hour that is close to or expected to occur for more than an hour.
A thunderstorm warning is a short-term warning valid for a period not exceeding six hours for a single release. — DayakDaily
