KUCHING, March 30: A thunderstorm warning has been issued for 14 districts in Sarawak until 5pm today.
The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia), in an advisory issued at 2.30pm today, said the affected districts are Serian, Samarahan, Simunjan, Sri Aman, Betong, Pusa, Saratok, Sarikei, Pakan, Julau, Sibu, Kanowit, Kapit, and Song.
The department said anticipated weather conditions include heavy rain and strong winds.
A warning is issued when there are signs of thunderstorms with rain intensity greater than 20mm/hour or expected to occur for more than an hour.
A thunderstorm warning is a short-term warning valid for a period not exceeding six hours for a single release. — DayakDaily
