KUCHING: The 32nd edition of Kuching Festival is back and tagging along is the all-time-favourite Kuching Food Festival 2018.
The immensely popular food festival started yesterday and will end on August 19. There are 287 stalls selling trendy and exotic food items and beverages. Also in the mix are games, exhibitions, imported and local items ranging from edibles to household stuff, and the latest gadgets.
The main organiser is Kuching South City Council (MBKS). Its mayor, Datuk James Chan, expected the Jubilee Hall ground to be filled with people from 5pm to midnight, like in previous years.
“We (MBKS) serve the people, and the festival is organised for ordinary folks with free shows and events. This weekend will be very packed,” he said when contacted.
Other events pencilled for this year’s celebration include entertainment featuring local singers and dancers at MBKS Theatre from 7pm to 9pm daily. From August 1-4, also from 7pm to 9pm, there will be `International Cities Night’ at the same venue.
Then there’s the Garden Show at the Kuching Festival ground and Kuching Got Talent semi-final on August 11 (from 7pm to 11pm) at MBKS Theatre. The final will be on the following day at the same venue from 7pm to 9pm.
