KUCHING, May 11: Teratak Kasih Tok Nan, a halfway home and transit centre for HIV patients undergoing treatment, will open in Bintulu and Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, soon.
According to a report by TVS, patron of the Malaysian AIDS Foundation Borneo, Datuk Amar Jamilah Anu, said the Bintulu centre is expected to open by the end of this year, while the Kota Kinabalu branch will likely be launched next year.
“God willing, this year we will do it in Bintulu and we will collaborate with the Malaysian AIDS Foundation (MAF), the community and so on.
“I would also like to express my gratitude to the Sarawak Government for providing full support to Teratak Kasih Tok Nan,” she said when met by reporters at the MAF Sarawak Branch Aidilfitri Open House event at Teratak Tok Kasih Tok Nan today.
Founded in 2016, the first Teratak Kasih Tok Nan is located in Kuching and was inaugurated in 2017 with assistance from MAF and the Sarawak government. The centre also functions as a one-stop support centre for the local HIV community, providing a safe and supportive space for individuals living with HIV. – DayakDaily
