“Wesak Day is a celebration that commemorates the birth, enlightenment, and passing of Siddhartha Gautama, the Buddha.

“It invites us all to reflect on noble values such as compassion, moderation, tolerance, and kindness toward fellow human beings, regardless of race or religion.

“I am truly proud of the spirit of unity and harmony among the various races and religions that continues to flourish in the land of Sarawak. Let us continue to safeguard this harmony as the foundation for the progress and stability of our beloved State.

“In closing, I hope that this year’s Wesak Day will be celebrated with deep meaning, in an atmosphere of peace and mutual respect,” he said. — DayakDaily
