KUCHING, March 27: There will be a temporary road closure and diversion at the Intan (third) roundabout of Kuching-Kota Samarahan Expressway from 9am to 4pm and 9pm to 4am starting today (March 27) until May 4 to facilitate road repair and upgrading works as part of the traffic light intersection project.
The partial road closure will affect the stretch in front of Teck Kong (Kuching-Samarahan direction) towards the Intan roundabout, both directions of Samarahan-Mile 15 as well as both directions of Samarahan-Jalan Datuk Mohammad Musa.
In an advisory notice, the Public Works Department (JKR) Sarawak Samarahan Division advised motorists heading from Kuching towards Samarahan to use the alternative route through the commercial centre where Teck Kong is located to exit to Samarahan.
Motorists are thus advised to be extra careful when approaching and travelling along the stretch and to comply with all traffic management instructions until the road works have been completed.
Road users are also encouraged to plan their journey ahead as some traffic delays can be expected.
JKR Sarawak Samarahan Division apologised for any inconvenience caused, and will update the public should there be any changes in the date, time or area involved with the road upgrading and repair works.
