BAU, Oct 8: Tasik Biru assemblyman Dato Henry Harry Jinep proposed that the Serikin Festival be organised in the near future.

He said such a festival would help boost the area’s economic activities to generate the locals’ income.

“Perhaps in the near future, we will organise Serikin Festival after we organise the Tasik Biru Festival and the ongoing Danu Festival in Serian,” said Henry.

The Deputy Minister of Transport said this when officiating at the opening of the fifth edition of the Siniawan Country Music Festival 2022 at Siniawan Bazaar on Friday night (Oct 7).

He pointed out that the festival would also allow people of various races and religions to mingle with each other, promoting unity in the State.

Henry also said that the Siniawan Country Music Festival is the best in the country and thanked the organisers and sponsors for making the event a success.

At the event were Deputy Minister of Plantation Industries and Commodity Datuk Willie Mongin, Serembu assemblyman Miro Simuh, Tamin assemblyman Christopher Gira Sambang, Bukit Semuja assemblyman John Ilus, Bau district officer Anielia Siam, and organising chairman Wejok Tomik. — DayakDaily
