KUCHING, Feb 12: Tunku Abdul Rahman University of Management and Technology (TAR UMT) is offering Bachelor Degree scholarships for Sarawakian students with a Unified Examination Certificate (UEC).
According to the university in a statement, students with UEC certificates obtained in 2020, 2021 or 2022, and not older than 23-years-old are entitled to apply for the scholarship.
Other requirements are applicant must be born in Sarawak and have completed their primary and secondary schooling in Sarawak.
The applicant’s family monthly household income must also not exceed RM7,000, and they must be an above average student with sufficient command of the English language.
The scholarship is applicable for any Bachelor Degree course offered by TAR UMT at the Kuala Lumpur Main Campus and applicants must ensure that their intended course of study is available for June 2023 enrollment.
TAR UMT said successful candidates will have the sole responsibility to apply for their admission to the university and the award of the tuition scholarship is contingent upon their successful application.
“If they are not successful in their application for admission, the scholarship offer will lapse.
“The tuition scholarships do not carry any bond. It is the hope of the donor that the successful candidates will in future try to help others in need if they are in the position to do so,” it said.
It added for 2023, two tuition scholarships for Bachelor Degree courses will be awarded to successful applicants to study at TAR UMT’s Kuala Lumpur Main Campus, for June enrollment.
