Tamin rep donates RM100,000 from RTP funds for construction of St Michael’s Catholic Church in Sibu Jaya

SIBU, May 2: The construction of St Michael’s Catholic Church in Sibu Jaya has received a big boost with a donation of RM100,000 from Tamin assemblyman Christopher Gira Sambang.

Christopher announced the donation, which would come from his Rural Transformation Project (RTP) funds, at a charity dinner organised by the church here on Sunday.

“St Michael’s Catholic Church in Sibu Jaya is currently still under construction.

“I understand that this church can accommodate approximately 3,000 people with a construction cost of RM6 million,” he said when delivering his speech at the event.

To help with its construction, he said he would donate RM100,000 to the church.

Also present were Bishop Joseph Hii, Rector Father Felix Hu and Chairman of St Michael Church Sibu Jaya Slyvester Gerusin. — DayakDaily
