Taman Bulatan park to get RM1mln facelift

MIRI, July 30: Taman Bulatan, a local park near Boulevard commercial centre, will be getting a RM1 million facelift, with some expansion works and upgrades to the popular playground.

According to Assistant Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture Datuk Sebastian Ting who is also Piasau Assemblyman, the upgrading work will include improving the park’s walkways, installing lighting and upgrading children’s play facilities in the park.


“The allocation (amounting to RM1 million) has been approved and hopefully we’ll start the upgrading work as soon as possible, within this year,” he said.

Ting disclosed this on Thursday morning during his briefed visit to the park.

The upgrading project is fully funded by the Sarawak government via Ting’s Rural Transformation Programme (RTP) project.

He was accompanied by Miri Mayor Adam Yii.

No date has been announced for the start of the upgrading works, but Ting assured that the work would kick off within this year.

Meanwhile, Yii, when met later, expressed his excitement with the allocation approved to upgrade the park.—DayakDaily
