S’wak govt committed to improving service centre management to ensure promises to rakyat kept

KUCHING, Feb 17: The Sarawak government gives assurance of its commitment to improving service centre management in every State constituency to ensure development projects promised for the people can be implement.

According to a news report from Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas) today, Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg said record management in service centres in every State constituency is also important in order to identify and address problems in each constituency.

“If we can manage the records well, there will be no problem to fulfill what has been promised to the people,” said Abang Johari in his speech during the launching ceremony for special projects held at a local hotel on Wednesday (Feb 16).


Abang Johari also emphasised each assemblyman must ensure that their management procedures at their respective service centre are in line with the guidelines set out in the project.

“We now have a guidelines book for project management as well as procedures for managing the representative’s service centre so that you (assemblymen) are informed of the standard operating procedures (SOPs) that need to be adhered to in terms of project management,” he added.

During the ceremony, Abang Johari, who is also the Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) chairman, announced the appointment of Dato Ibrahim Baki as the new GPS State Legislative Assembly (DUN) chief whip.

Also present were Deputy Chief Ministers Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas and Dato Sri Dr Sim Kui Hian, DUN Speaker Tan Sri Datuk Amar Mohamad Asfia Awang Nasar, State Secretary Datuk Amar Jaul Samion, and other distinguished guests. — DayakDaily
