KUCHING, Nov 16: A 22-year-old man in Bau was arrested by the police for allegedly operating an illegal online gambling top up business.
Bau district police chief DSP Poge Nyaon in a press statement today, revealed the arrest was made during a raid at a business premises in Bau Town District, in Jalan Serenggok at 1.15pm, on Nov 11 (Wednesday).
“The suspect is believed to be running an illegal ‘SCR’ online gambling top up (operation), and was brought to the Bau police station for further action,” he disclosed.
During the raid, a mobile phone and an undisclosed amount of cash were seized.
“Background checks on the suspect showed no previous (criminal) record, and the case is being investigated under Section 4(1)(C) of the Common Gaming Houses Act 1953,” Poge added. — DayakDaily
