SUPP man: DAP’s support of Anwar as next PM reflects party’s lack of ‘firm, concrete foothold’

Sarawak United Peoples’ Party (SUPP) Batu Kitang Branch organising secretary Gerald Goh

KUCHING, Oct 25: Identifying Pakatan Harapan (PH) chairperson Anwar Ibrahim as the next prime minister for the PH government is a reflection of the Democratic Action Party’s (DAP) strategy, which is nothing but adopting a ‘changing game’, and without a firm and concrete foothold or party principles.

In a statement, Sarawak United Peoples’ Party (SUPP) Batu Kitang Branch organising secretary Gerald Goh pointed out that just as DAP had forgiven Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, who in their eyes was guilty of being involved in corruption for decades, they had also seemed to have forgiven Anwar for his actions when he was in power.

“DAP vigorously defended Dr Mahathir, sweeping their decades-long corruption accusations under the carpet overnight. However, DAP knows that voters will not continue to buy Mahathir’s presence in the upcoming Federal election, so they immediately tried to cut off all ties with Mahathir,” he said.

“With Anwar identified as PH’s next prime minister, DAP once again is calling on voters to say that Anwar has also walked out from his ‘usual self’, asking voters to give Anwar a chance.”

Goh called on voters of Sarawak to make concerted efforts to reject all political parties from Malaya and ensure that Sarawak’s power, peace, and voice in Parliament will not be intentionally divided by Malayan political parties. — DayakDaily
