KUCHING, July 21: The Sessions Court here discharged and acquitted an MBKS supervisor for sexually assaulting a 7-year-old boy.
Sessions Court Judge Jason Juga ruled that the prosecution had failed to prove ingredients or elements of the offence for both charges and the prosecution also failed to prove that the act was done with sexual intention or for sexual purposes.
Meli Tintang, 57, was charged under Section 14(d) of the Sexual Offences Against Children 2017 and Section 354 of the Penal Code.
DPP Nurfadzlin Mahmad Zulhasnan prosecuted while the accused was represented by Counsel Christopher Bada Stanley Nyi.—DayakDaily
