KUCHING, Oct 12: Sunway College Kuching launched its two new part-time diploma programmes for accounting and business management today.
Sunway College Kuching chief executive Tang Ing Sia said both the part-time diploma courses will allow students to complete up to 31 subjects over 8 semesters and 4 years, instead of 2.5 years.
The pre-requisites for enrolling in the Diploma in Accounting programme include a Pass in English in SPM and a minimum of 3 credits including Mathematics.
For the Diploma in Business Management programme, enrolling students must at least have scored a Pass in SPM and a minimum of 3 credits, subjects not specified.
Only two intakes are available for the part-time diplomas, which are in January and July, she said.
Tang also disclosed about the micro-credential awards system which enables students to study any diploma subject of their choice without having to follow through the entire course.
She said this is most suitable for those who are applying for a job which requires only a particular type of certification.
“For example, a person can only choose to take the Company Law and Business Law subjects that are required by their future employer.
“So, they can just enroll themselves for that subject and get a certificate after completing the subject course,” she said during the part-time diploma programs launching ceremony held at Sunway College Kuching here today.
Sunway Education Group chief executive officer Professor Dr Elizabeth Lee and Sunway College Kuching director Joseph Lim were present to officiate at the ceremony.
