BINTULU, July 1: Stateless individuals or those without valid personal documents facing difficulties registering for the Covid-19 vaccination via the MySejahtera app can contact the Bintulu Parliamentary Service Centre Office.

Bintulu MP Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing said his staff will collect individual information regarding these groups of people and then submit their applications to the Bintulu Health Office so that all groups of society can be vaccinated.

“For example, those in longhouses who are born in Sarawak but do not have an identity card or those who are yet to get their identity card because they are adopted or those who were sent to ‘illogical areas’for vaccination can get help from us.

“Maybe this group of people do not fulfil the existing criteria for vaccination but face the risk of Covid-19 infection.

“At present, anyone needs to be considered as beneficiary of the vaccination programme in order to achieve herd immunity the soonest,” he said in a Facebook post today.

Tiong, who is also Progressive Democratic Party (PDP) president said the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme (PICK) is one of the approaches to stimulate the National Recovery Plan (NCP) effectively.

He asserted that the only way to guarantee community health is to ensure every individual has immunity to Covid-19 infection.

Thus, Tiong said the relevant authorities must be more flexible in its vaccination procedures to prevent any group of people from being left out for vaccination due to human error.

Adding on, he urges the people in Bintulu to cooperate with the government, abide by the standard operating procedures (SOP) as well as to get vaccinated in order to break the chain of the Covid-19 transmission. — DayakDaily
