JPJ counter services to operate by appointment until July 12

KUCHING, July 1: The Road Transport Department’s (JPJ) counter services throughout Sarawak will operate strictly by appointment only from July 1 to 12 as no “walk-ins” are allowed.

JPJ in a notice said members of the public can make an appointment on weekdays from 8am to 12pm by contacting the telephone number of its office as well as its respective branches.


They can contact its State headquarters for an appointment at 082-373 000, Serian branch at 082-872 904, Sri Aman branch at 083-322 321, Betong branch at 083-472 955, Sarikei branch at 084-655 290, Sibu branch at 084-212 145, Kapit branch at 084-796 549, Mukah branch at 084-874 366, Bintulu branch at 086-339 402, Miri branch at 085-615 506, Limbang branch at 082-211 692, Lawas branch at 085-284 169, UTC Kuching Office at 082-232 895, UTC Sibu Office at 084-329 128, UTC Miri Office at 085-424 908.

JPJ said its offices are open from 9am to 4pm while it closes from 1-2 pm from Monday to Thursday and 11:45am to 2:15pm on Friday for sanitisation.

On the other hand, the department said it provides relaxation to vehicle owners whose driving licences and road tax has expired or expiring between June 1 to July 31.

It said they can renew them between Aug 1 and Sept 30. — DayakDaily
