KUCHING, April 17: The deadline to apply for a stall at the 2024 Kuching Festival Food Fair is this Friday, April 19, at 4pm.
According to a press release issued by the Kuching South City Council (MBKS), the Kuching Festival Food Fair will run from July 26 to Aug 18 at the MBKS grounds, open daily from 5pm to 11pm.
It went on to say that 330 stalls have been allocated this year, with stall vacancies open for application beginning Thursday, April 4 at 8am and closing on Friday, April 19 at 4pm.
“Application forms for half, single, and premium stalls are available on the MBKS website and at the One Stop Service Counter, Counters 8 and 9, located in the MBKS lobby. The One Stop Service Counter is open from 8am to 4pm daily.
“All completed forms must be submitted to the One Stop Service Counter on or before Friday, April 19 at 4pm, along with all required documents and fees. Late applications will not be accepted,” read the press release.
It added that the selection criteria would primarily be based on the creativity and innovation of the proposed food items, subject to the stall’s availability in the category applied.
It added that the 2023 winners and top donors are given priority in selecting their stall location by category.
This year’s 330 stalls include 91 premium stalls, 53 single stalls, 156 half stalls, a Chinese home cook delicacy corner, 25 double stalls, one drinks stall, and three beer stalls.
On April 6, MBKS mayor Wee Hong Seng disclosed that some 500 physical application forms for the 2024 Kuching Festival Food Fair have been snapped up by vendors as of 4pm on April 5.
He remarked that the count does not include the online application forms that have been downloaded. — DayakDaily
