St Joseph’s Int’l School students shine globally with top honours from Outstanding Cambridge Learner Awards

KUCHING, May 30: Students from St Joseph’s International School Kuching (SJIS) have once again placed the school on the global academic stage, with three of its students securing top honours in the internationally recognised Outstanding Cambridge Learner Awards.

This year’s awards recognise best performing students in the exam series, including three young achievers from SJIS; Jeslyn Ting Jie who achieved ‘Top in the World’ award for Business Studies and ‘Top in Malaysia’ award for Geography, Hii Mao Xing honoured with ‘Top in the World’ recognition for Mathematics, and Chan Xhin Yuan who was recognised as ‘Top in Malaysia’ for Art and Design.

All three were given their awards at the Cambridge Awards Ceremony in Selangor, Malaysia.

Over 111,000 students in over 130 countries around the world sat for the November 2024 Cambridge International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) exams.

“We wish all the very best to these students and congratulate them on their effort. They not only inspire their peers to academic success but they also exemplify the true Josephian spirit of dedication and excellence,” said St Joseph’s International School Kuching principal Br Robert Teoh FMS.

Beyond individual triumphs, these achievements reinforce the school’s reputation for academic excellence.
