KUCHING, Dec 21: Christmas is a time of miracles, a time when the ordinary becomes extraordinary, and when the spirit of generosity and kindness fills the air.
This is the view of Kuching South City Hall major Dato Wee Hong Seng who expressed his joy for the privilege to celebrate the festive season with the children from Rumah Kanak-kanak Kuching today.
“And what better way to celebrate this magical season than with the pure-hearted souls that grace our presence today — the children. Their innocence, their laughter, and their boundless enthusiasm remind us of the true meaning of Christmas,” said Wee at the Christmas Celebration organised by Kuching Love Book Assoiciation.
He wanted the children of Rumah Kanak-kanak Kuching to know that they are well-loved and cared for by the orphanage as “within these walls, within this community, you (the children) are enveloped in a tapestry of love, support, and unwavering care”.
To the caregivers, volunteers, and staff of the children’s home, Wee expressed appreciation as their dedication and unconditional love for the children is the bedrock of their transformation.
“May this festive celebration be a testament to our shared commitment – a pledge to create a world where every child feels safe, heard, and valued.
“Let us continue to nurture a community where every child is empowered to dream, to learn, and to embrace a future brimming with possibilities,” said Wee. — DayakDaily
