KUCHING, Jan 18: South Korean company OCIM Sdn Bhd will be selecting four schools in Sarawak to implement the ‘Solar School Project’.

OCIM vice chairman Lee Woo Hyun said the project could give students in Sarawak the opportunity to experience and learn about the importance of using green energy.

According to a news report by Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas), Lee said his team has installed solar power generation systems in nearly 300 schools in South Korea to date.

He also explained that the systems not only generate power, but also function to educate students and raise their awareness about renewable energy.

Lee said this during a courtesy call to Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg at his office at Wisma Bapa Malaysia earlier today.

During the visit, Lee also expressed his appreciation for the continuous support from the Sarawak government towards its effort to explore green energy in Sarawak. — DayakDaily
