KUCHING, May 14: Repok assemblyman Dato Sri Huang Tiong Sii has handed over RM100,000 worth of financial assistance in the form of a cheque from Sarawak Chinese School Unit to SMK Tinggi Sarikei.
According to Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas) in a news report (May 13, 2021), Huang said through the special unit, it has enabled them to provide financial assistance consistently (to Chinese schools) every year.
“The allocation also must be managed properly through a special body to coordinate and supervise the development of the Chinese schools in the State,” he said.
On the same note, Huang also expressed his appreciation to Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg for his efforts to improve the State’s education system.
“The Chief Minister always strives to provide the education system facilities for Sarawakians,” he added.
The cheque, which was approved by the Sarawak Chinese School Unit, a special unit led by the Local Government and Housing Minister Dato Sri Dr Sim Kui Hian, was handed over by Huang to the school on Thursday. — DayakDaily
