PUTRAJAYA, July 23: The Election Commission (EC) has set August 29 as the polling date for the Slim by-election in Perak.
According to national daily The Star, the EC has also set August 15 as the nomination date for the state seat while early voting is on August 25.
The Slim state seat has been vacant following the demise of its assemblyman Datuk Mohd Khusairi Abdul Talib who passed away due to a heart attack on July 15.
He reportedly collapsed while playing golf at a golf resort in Pahang and was immediately sent to Bentong hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The Slim by-election will be the 12th by-election since the last general election was held in May 2018. —DayakDaily
