Homeless man from Sri Aman found dead in Sibu

SIBU, July 23: A homeless man with poor health conditions was discovered dead at a petrol kiosk in Jalan Pulau here today.

According to Sibu district deputy police chief Supt Collin Babat, the police received an alert about a man lying motionless on the ground in a petrol kiosk in Jalan Pulau at about 9.06am.

Two policemen immediately went to the scene and found the man, 67, who is from Sri Aman unresponsive.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene by a medical assistant from Sibu Hospital. There were no injuries discovered on the body of the deceased, Collin added.

The deceased had a record of poor health, having been diagnosed with asthma and tuberculosis. Packets of medication for these illnesses were also discovered with the body.

Collin added that the police have ruled out foul play in the man’s death. ā€” DayakDaily
