KUCHING, April 11: International trade events such as the Food & Hotel Asia-Food & Beverage (FHA-F&B) 2025 held in Singapore is an ideal platform to market Sarawakian products to the global market.
Advisor to the Ministry of International Trade, Industry and Investment (MINTRED) Datuk Seri Mohd Naroden Majais said Singapore is one of the best gateways in Southeast Asia to promote products from Malaysia, especially from Sarawak in this region, including to Saudi Arabia and Europe.
“A trade and exhibition programme like this held in Singapore is very appropriate to showcase and promote food products with halal certification from Malaysia, including our products from Sarawak.
“Our products can be exported to foreign countries such as Indonesia, Europe, Saudi Arabia and many more,” he said when interviewed by the Sarawak Public Communications Unit (UKAS) while visiting the Sarawak Pavilion booth at the Singapore Expo yesterday.
Held from April 8 to 11, the FHA-F&B 2025 is Asia’s largest food and beverage trade fair, featuring 1,500 exhibitors, 80 group pavilions from more than 50 countries and regions.
Sarawak, via Sarawak Trade, Investment and Tourism Office Singapore (STATOS), has brought a total of 19 exhibitors from Sarawak to the event to promote various products including processed bird’s nest, coffee, tea from midin vegetables, white and black pepper, Sarawak laksa paste, empurau fish, and many more.
Naroden added that all products from Sarawak displayed at the exhibition are ready to be exported.
Aside from that, he noted that demand for essential goods, including food products, is increasing every year, as the world’s population continues to rise.
In this regard, he congratulated STATOS for successfully showcasing selected food products from Sarawak at FHA-F&B 2025. – DayakDaily
