Seven arrested over missing scuba diving equipment worth RM180,000

MIRI, Oct 6: Police on Saturday arrested seven local men for their alleged involvement in stealing scuba diving equipment estimated to be worth RM180,000 from a dive company here.

The items were reported stolen from the scuba dive company at Eastwood Industrial Park on April 27 this year around 10am.


The act was caught on CCTV.

One of the suspects is a former director of the company.

They were detained around 5.30pm and have been produced at the Miri Magistrates Court today for remand application.

All accused are aged from 20 to 39-years-old.

They were represented by counsel Wendel Crocker.

Lower Court Registrar Nuur Hafiza Yatim ordered all seven suspects to be remanded until October 7.

The offence is being frame under Section 380 for theft. — DayakDaily
