KUCHING, May 30: Senior Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob announced that separated spouses will be allowed to make cross-district travel beginning June 1, 2020.

Ismail Sabri said that the decision was made during a special committee meeting today to allow the separated husband and wives to be united with their family.

“As such, the spouses are allowed to travel to meet with the family, and this relaxation will start on June 1, 2020 (Monday),” he said during a press conference on Covid-19 (non-health) development held in Putrajaya, today.

He added that cross-district travel for any reason other than what is stated is still not allowed.

Meanwhile, Ismail Sabri stated that a total of 471 individuals had been issued compounds by the police for various offenses, which is against the standard operating procedure (SOP) under the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) period.

He said that 300 of the compounds issued in police stations throughout the country, including one compound, involved Aidilfitri visiting.

“The rest of the 171 compounds was issued on the ground, with 76 of them issued at the roadblock throughout the country.

“I would like to remind that the authorities will continue to monitor the situation, and action will be taken against those who do not comply with the SOP under the CMCO period,” he added.—DayakDaily.
