KUCHING, May 12: Senari Synergy Sdn Bhd has presented zakat (tithe) worth RM220,000 to Tabung Baitulmal Sarawak (TBS).
Premier of Sarawak Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg witnessed the presentation ceremony between Senari Synergy Group managing director Jefri Ahmad Tambi to Sarawak Islamic Council (SIC) president Datu Misnu Taha at Wisma Bapa Malaysia here today.
Also present was TBS general manager Datu Abang Mohd Shibli Abang Mohd Nailie.
According to a report by Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas), Jefri said a significant portion of the zakat would be channeled to assist the education of children from less fortunate families.
Earlier, Abang Johari also received a courtesy call from RHB Bank delegation led by its group managing director Mohd Rashid Mohamed.
Rashid stated that the purpose of the visit is to further strengthen the cooperation between the Sarawak government and RHB Bank.
“Various projects have been carried out together especially the Petchem Methanol Project where we are advisors and for that, we will continue to strengthen our good relationship for the sake of mutual wellbeing,” he said. — DayakDaily
