SEDC launches new Miri Regional Office to help boost entrepreneurs in Northern Region

MIRI, Aug 18: Sarawak Economic Development Corporation’s (SEDC) new Miri Regional Office in Permyjaya will give the community of entrepreneurs in the Northern Region access to government support, programmes and services.

With the launch of its new Miri Regional Office on Wednesday, SEDC Sarawak chairman Tan Sri Datuk Amar Dr Abdul Aziz Dato Husain is optimistic that it will inspire SEDC staff in Miri to excel further in their endeavors as the leading agency to propel Sarawak to the next level in promoting the commercial, industrial and socio-economic development of the State.


“The main function for this Miri regional office is to offer services to the community of entrepreneurs in the area of Miri and Limbang.

“In addition, Miri Regional PPES office also conducts programme which includes the entrepreneurship and community development scheme such as the Bumiputera Entrepreneur Enhancement Programme (Putera), Skim Niaga Jaya (SNJ), loan scheme for Small and Medium Industry (SPIKS), Entrepreneurship Incubation Centre (PIBU), Graduates-to-Entrepreneurs (Gerak) programme as well as Technical and Vocational Entrepreneur Programme (USTEV),” Abdul Aziz disclosed.

The SEDC Regional Office Miri has moved here from Bandar Baru Permyjaya on September 2018.

At the programme, Abdul Aziz also launched Sara-Bif Premium’s third outlet.

The Sara-Bif Premium, Permyjaya branch was opened on Sept 9, 2021.

“Sara-Bif Premium Outlet is a new concept that we introduced to the market; it is a combination of a butcher shop and restaurant. The customers can choose the cuts that they want and then bring them to our chef to grill them,” Abdul Aziz explained. — DayakDaily
