SIBU, Jan 4: A 55-year-old security guard, Raymond Bungkong, collapsed and tragically passed away while on duty at a public library on Jalan Mantis today.
The incident occurred after the victim had earlier complained of shortness of breath to a member of the public at around 7.05am.
In response to a distress call, a team from the Civil Defence Force rushed to the scene.
Despite the efforts of paramedics from the hospital who also arrived promptly, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
Sibu police chief ACP Zulkipli Suhaili confirmed that the case has been classified as a sudden death.
The victim’s body has been handed over to the police for further investigation and necessary procedures. —DayakDaily
