KANOWIT, Dec 8: The search and rescue (SAR) operation for a 75-year-old man reported missing in the forest area near Rumah Adrian, Sungai Ranan, Kanowit, has entered its second day today.
According to a report by the Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba), the missing individual, identified as Lai Juing, was reported missing at around 3.15pm yesterday.
He was last seen wearing a dark blue shirt and long black pants and has a medical history of amnesia.
A team from the Kanowit Fire and Rescue Station (BBP), led by operation commander PBK II Unjah Anak Janggau, deployed three personnel and a D-Max vehicle to the scene.
The search today involves two search teams. Each team comprises six villagers, led by a fire officer.
The search radius currently extends to one kilometre (km) from the control post (PKB).
As of the latest report, no new leads have been discovered, and search efforts are expected to continue until the missing individual is found.
Authorities are urging residents to come forward with any information that may assist the operation. — DayakDaily
