KUCHING, Dec 1: Sarawak Development Institute (SDI) is organising a public talk titled ‘From Berlin to Sarawak: Augmented and Virtual Reality in Art and Culture Institutions’ on Dec 5,2022 (Monday) starting 9.30am.
SDI in a statement today said the talk which is organised in collaboration with University of Technology Sarawak (UTS), will be held at Borneo Cultures Museum Auditorium by HTW-Berlin Professor Jürgen Sieck, Humboldt University of Berlin Professor Christian Kassung, and UTS Associate Professor Dr Tariq Zaman.
The presentations will be on augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) applications that have been developed for cultural institutions, such as Mozart’s “Zauberflöte” at the Komische Oper Berlin and Mozart’s “Jupiter Symphony” at the Konzerthaus Berlin.
Apart from that, the presenters will describe context-sensitive products and services for museums and concert halls developed by the INKA research group at HTW Berlin, NUST Windhoek and UTS Sarawak.
The presenters also will demonstrate some of the tools, such as the AR children’s book “The Dancing Tortoise and the San Hunters of the Kalahari”, the AR recipe book of the Corona Guest Farm, the AR book about the Oroo’ sign language of the Penans, the AR book for World Fuzhou Heritage Gallery, the season magazine of Konzerthaus Berlin, the Virtual Konzerthaus Quartet and a virtual tour of the Konzerthaus Berlin, including a visit to the 4th (Italian) Symphony by Mendelssohn Bartholdy.
